First Report Card

Carli got her first report card on Friday! Well, she got some in Kindergarten, but those were just check marks. This is her first report card with real grades! Here in Vienna they use numbers instead of letters for grading. "1" means an "A" and a "5" is a "F". I'm sure you all can guess what she got.... All 1's!!! Her teacher said that she is "totally integrated"! and that "she has no problems with the language", "She is extraordinary"!
So we decided to take her out to celebrate with some Gelato! She even ordered her sundae in German! We are so proud of her!

Great job, Carli! We're so proud of you.

That's awesome! I'm glad to see that a six year old is succeeding where I failed as a sophmore in college! I believe I hold the distinction as the only Vienna studies student to ever drop German. The only person more relieved that I dropped was Frau Ehler. The next year, they instituted the Rod Diller rule, and didn't allow it.

Those sticks in Carli's ice cream remind me of the first time I went to Tikki Eis (sp?). Josh, you know what a cheapskate I am, as I always look to exploit the weak spot on the menu. I saw those sticks sitting on the table and thought to myself, buy a single coffee dip and fill up on the freebies. Little did I know they were watching me consume these and promptly brought me a fat bill when I was done!

Live and learn. We miss you guys and are glad to see your family is doing well.
