Happy Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's day this year with heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, heart-shaped pizza for lunch, heart-shaped sugar cookies for dessert, with some fun crafts in between! My favorite craft that we did this year was a drawing of the kid's hearts. We asked them to put anything in their heart that they loved. Carli was able to write in the names of every family member and her favorite ice cream shop in Vienna, and lots of other things. Caleb drew a picture of Mommy and Daddy, a dog, a slide, and his cousin Kinsey. The first thing Cotter drew was a big person that took up a large part of his heart. I asked him who that was and he said, "That's you, Mama!" I about cried! Then he drew another person, who I assumed was Daddy, but instead it was a neighbor girl named Angi. He drew some other things and then he said he was done. I asked him, what about Daddy and Carli and Caleb. He said, "I wuv them, but I just didn't have any more room in my heart!"

It was a great craft and I plan to do this every year with them. I loved seeing what all they put in their heart.

Kim, I love this idea. So cute.

Kim,
I put something heart felt together from the class. You should get it in the mail in a couple of weeks. It won't match your kid's heart drawings, but we tried!

Kim,
When and IF I get the art job at Western Village, I am totally doing that what you love inside your heart for Valentines! That was super cool!!
