We had our first team retreat since we moved to Vienna up in the mountains of Austria last week. It was a lot of fun, but a lot of work too. Every other retreat that I have been on, the details were always done by someone else, so this was the first time that we had to do everything. I now have a greater appreciation for all the people who have ever organized a retreat! The cabin that we stayed at is owned by the churches of Christ in this part of Europe. There is a rode that leads up to the cabin, but with all of the snow that was there, we were unable to drive our minivan to it. So, some had to walk an hour and a half, through knee-deep snow, while the rest of us got to ride snowmobiles! The kids have never seen so much snow!
We did most of the cooking on a huge wood-burning stove which was a lot of fun. The kids built a big snowman named just Bob and another one named just Sue (do you know those children's books?) and went sledding and had a lot of fun. We have some really cute pictures that I have been wanting to post, but we can't exactly find the camera right now, so those will have to come later.
We had a lot of good devotionals and spent time praying and planning for this year. The kids had a lot of fun as they were involved in the devos and had their own Bible classes. It was a great time for our team to put aside the daily stresses and regain our focus on what God has planned for us.
